Gloomy Grey Glitter Gradient

You see what I did with the title there? =P Sooo, two things for today's post:
1. It is raining cats and dogs here!
2. It's baaaaaack... the lazy weekend post, that is! On to the pictures!

This was Zoya Harley with a matte top coat and a glitter gradient using China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara. Happy Sunday, folks!

Old School Mani: Milani Lavender Twinkle

Why hello all you lovely polish lovers out there. How have you all been? I've been having an absolutely awesome day so far and I hope you've been having the same! Today's mani is a throw back to the old school days -- the days when I had no clue how to properly appreciate nail polish. Yes... this polish is an oldie but a goodie. It was recently given to me by a wonderful fellow polish lover who I got to know through this awesome online community. She not only fulfilled several of my long time lemmings, but she also introduced me to some fabulous polishes that I never even knew existed before my time! It is only appropriate, of course, that I share this wonderful beauty with you all. So here I have for you Milani Lavender Twinkle...

Ahhh!!! You must enlarge the pictures to fully appreciate the beauty of this polish in all it's glory.  This was 4 coats >_< I usually don't like doing that many coats but trust me, this one was worth it (even with some shrinkage due to my fast dry top coat). Not only is it a soft lavender-grey, it also comes packed with hints of blue and purple shimmer. I couldn't help but stare at it all day especially when it caught the sun and just sparkled like mad! Unfortunately, this one is long discontinued (as are some other fabulous ones no doubt). I'm sure there are a ton of beauties that came out before I started getting into nail polish but I feel pretty lucky that I own this one. What do you guys think? Are there any polishes "before your time" when you wish you had been a nail polish fiend fanatic? ^_^

Overcast Mani: Glitter Gal Lizard Belly

Sooo YES, I am guilty. I am guilty of going back to square nails. Hahaha! I really tried my hardest to stick to oval nails and while it did last for almost two weeks, I just couldn't fight the urge in me to file them back down to square nails :P. Even though they are nubbins for now, I still love my square nails over the oval ones. I think I'd go with oval shaped nails when I want something a bit more sophisticated but let's face it... a girl's gotta have some fun in life right?! So back to square nails I go :D.

As you've noticed, the weather is NOT working with me today. Mr. Sun just doesn't want to come out to play. It doesn't matter though because the awesomeness of this polish cannot be tamed! Even in overcast weather, Glitter Gal's Lizard Belly still shines with its beautiful holographic sparkle. Let's get on with the pics!

Isn't she a beauty?! I'm sure you've all seen plenty of this polish in the bright beautiful sun so you are aware of its "holographic power" but seeing how much it still shows up in gloomy, cloudy weather really tells you how wonderfully awesome this holographic polish is! While it does look almost black, it's actually a darkened green holographic polish. Gosh, I just can't' help but stare at my nails :P -- potential driving hazard anyone?! Hahaha, hope you all are having a fabulous November. I can't believe the holidays are coming up so quickly now. Thanks for reading all you lovelies! <3

Mannequin Hands!

Why hello lovely readers! How are you all this wonderful Thursday night? Today's mani is something a little different as you can tell. One thing you'll notice is that my nail shape is different! Yes, I decided to try out oval nails to have a "softer" look. I will try this out for a little while and see how it goes. It's definitely something different so far but I like it! A good different =). So anyway, for the longest time, I've been looking for the perfect nude and I could never find a good shade... that is until now. Here we have Essie Brooch the Subject from the most recent Winter 2011 Collection. It is so extremely close to what I would consider the perfect shade to have "mannequin hands."

Oval nails! So different aye? =P

So this is as close to mannequin hands that I have ever been able to get. I've tried so many polishes that were too dark, too light, and the whole nine yards. If only this polish were slightly a little more on the pink side, it would be THE perfect nude. So there you have it! My first go at oval AND nude nails -- a win win in my book =). Do any of you regularly have oval nails? Or have any of you found the perfect nude yet? Hahah, as always, thanks for reading guys. Have a great rest of your week!

Matte Grey + Blue Sprinkles

Hey guys! It's been a while since I've done a matte mani so I decided to pull out the matte top coat and put it to good use =). Today I've got on Maybelline Cool Couture as my base polish. Cool Couture is a limited edition polish that I believe came out some time in the Fall of this year. I did about 3 coats for good coverage. My glitter was actually done using a Japanese polish called Winmax in #10. This was actually found on one of my crazy nail polish adventures I previously blogged about. Pictures ahead!

I was told this looked like a dark chocolate
cupcake dipped in blue sprinkles lol

So that is actually NOT the original polish bottle that the Winmax #10 came in. They came in a much smaller sized bottle and I bought two because it was so pretty. I then just went ahead and poured both into an empty bottle I had lying around and just transferred the labels. I did this with several of the other small polishes I had as well ^^. Anyway, that is all for today. I hope you all have a fabulous Friday. I am SO ready for the weekend!

It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time!

Okay, so I lied. It's only jelly time. No peanut butter here... only because I couldn't find any in the house today ><. What is jelly time you ask? Weeeeell, today's mani is Revlon Victorian from their somewhat recent Just Tinted Collection. From what I am aware, these polishes were only around for a limited time and this was actually the only one I saw at my local Walgreens. These polishes all have a really fun jelly-like finish which can best be described as squishy. Yes, squishy! See below ^_^

Behold, the squishyness factor!

Left: indoors, Middle: shade, Right: sunlight

These all came in shades of pink and red so I'm not too bummed I couldn't get them all. If you ever have a chance to snatch them up though, definitely go for it! They are a fun look and are perfect for "jelly sandwiches." I will attempt to do a jelly sandwich mani in the near future with some other jelly polishes I've recently acquired. Till then, thanks for reading and have a wonderful week everyone! =D
